SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
- Providing social and recreational activities to promote socialization and engagement among seniors.
- Organize regular social events or get togethers for seniors.
- Chai Time, Book Club for seniors.
- Assist with religious needs, take to masjid on Fridays and other days for prayers, arrange Quran classes.
- Offer family caregivers respite from caregiving duties.
- Provide companionship via phone or in-person visits.
BASIC NEED PROGRAM
- Assisting with transportation and mobility needs to help seniors maintain their independence.
- Transportation, coordinates rides to appointments and groceries for seniors who have difficulty driving, providing information in accessing public transits.
- Providing seniors Halal Meals if they cannot cook. Soon we are planning to have Halal Wheels on Meals Program InshaAllah
- Assisting them to get their medication prescription filled or delivered.
- Helping seniors if they need some assistance in their household work.
- Provide assistance to find shelter or placement.
- Delivery of ration to their houses
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
- Providing education and resources to help seniors stay healthy and active. This could include things like health and wellness classes, information on healthy aging, learning about computers, phone, ESL and how to get health Insurance, Medicare or Medicaid.
- Teaching seniors the computer skills, operating smart phones.
- Helping them to understand the finances
- Educate them about Social Security and SSI
- Provide assistance in getting Medicaid and Medicare insurance
- Teach ESL Classes
- Conducting Nutrition workshops
- Mental Heath Education/awareness by conducting workshops or seminars, Stress Management groups for seniors and caregivers.
ASH SHIFA SERVICE
- Reaching out to seniors, visiting them at homes or hospitals giving them comfort and spiritual assistance. Nursing home facilities in USA are not culturally sensitive we provide the connection to make their stay peaceful.
- Helping families in difficult times, especially when they have Alzheimer or Demented parents or elderly.
LEGAL ASSISTANCE
- We are collaborating with Community Legal Agencies in order to
- Help seniors to get advice for Immigration, work permit or US Citizenship
- Assist them with resources for
- Islamic Will or Trust
